PENSON are the gurus of interiors… be it bold statements, unmissable detailing, or showstopping furniture – we’ve got it covered!

This week, we’re taking a step outside, and showing our appreciation for some of the finest exteriors around.

From concrete jungle hideaways, to marshmallow churches, these flamboyantly unique exteriors really pack a punch and prove that sometimes… just occasionally, you can judge a book by its cover…

Freddy Mamani:

We have to start in El Alto, Bolivia, for some seriously cool art-deco inspo – architect Freddy Mamani is slowly modernising the growing city – and injecting some much needed colour into the local surroundings.

Lacime Architects:

Next up, over to China, where Lacime Architects are serving up all kinds of serenity and calm, with the Shimao Longyin Leisure Centre.¬†It’s the reflective pools that PENSON are loving, giving the site an illusion of perfect symmetry.

Inuce:

Staying in China for more of our favourite quirky exteriors, we couldn’t possible miss the new Huaxiang Church hall by Inuce. The pastel pink pebble-dash exterior is surprisingly beautiful – the pebbles soften the block of colour, and prevents any overwhelming pinkness!

Patisandhika & Daniel Mitchell:

Finally, we take a look at Patisandhika & Daniel Mitchell’s A Brutalist Tropical Home in Bali. Reminiscent of long lost jungle ruins, the stark concrete exterior is a modern update, and the seamless blend of jungle and architecture makes this exterior so striking.

While our tour of extraordinary exteriors has taken us on a global scavenger hunt, London definitely offers up plenty of inspirational architecture ready and waiting to be discovered…why not head out this weekend and see for yourself.
