In true PENSON style, we always make sure we're at the heart of the design world's latest trends, hottest designers, and up and coming products. So as London Design Festival rolled back around last month, we sent out our team to feel out their favourite exhibitions...

Our junior designer Rose, knows what's what when it comes to colour trends - be it bold neons, classic pastels, or aesthetic irridescents, she's brought her eye for the bright and beautiful to our JO&JOE projects! On her trip round LDF, naturally she was drawn to citizenM and Emily Forge's installation 'Never Lost'.

The vibrant maze emphasises the unique way colour can be layered, and the way we interact with our surroundings. citizenM, have joined the growing movement of supporting and collaborating with locally-based artists and designers, through commissioning artworks and murals for its hotels - a colloboration of space and colour! -  a movement seen throughout our own JO&JOE hostels!

PENSON designer Caroline is the queen of furniture - finding unique pieces for her projects, that bring spaces to life and create a whole new depth of character... so without a shadow of a doubt, Caroline's standout exhibition from LDF had to be ‘PLEASE BE SEATED’ by Paul Cocksedge! 'Walking the line between craft object and design solution' the installation provides both seating, and shade for it's users - something the team could appreciate after a long sunshine filled day, wandering around LDF!

As her first year's anniversary at PENSON comes round, junior designer Joanna has made her mark on our projects with her skills at finding incredible new furniture & lighting suppliers! So it came as no suprise that she fell in love with Sony Design's 'Affinity in Autonomy'. Human presence could be detected and recognition was reflected in the kinetic motion of the pendulum's random movement, creating a mesmerising display.

Working closely with tech-savvy companies such as Quadrature Capital, smart design is something we like to immerse ourselves in fully, to create high-spec, modern solutions for our clients' requirements.

Manon is undeniably one of the most chic designers here at PENSON, her sense of style and taste is unrivalled, and as such, we knew her findings from LDF 2019 would be totally fabulous... we weren't disappointed! For Manon, it was straight over to Saatchi Gallery...

I-MADE, curated by Giulio Cappellini, showcased the finest in Italian manufactured design at Saatchi Gallery, to emphasise the incredible craftmanship that goes into each product. Taking furniture out of its traditional show-room background, and placing it within the crisp white canvas that is Saatchi's allowed you to really appreciate the products, in a way that quite often gets lost in the distraction of showroom settings.
