London Craft Week is coming up fast, and the PENSON designers have been working away on their top-secret design project for CDW. Chosen along with 9 other studios to reinterpret Mark Products’ classic Loops Chair, our team have jumped straight in with a very hands-on approach! With so much extra creativity in the studio - we should be rebranding ourselves as one of London's best workshop studios!; think glue guns, needles and thread, and plenty of crafty PENSONites, the London Craft Week has come at the perfect time! Never ones to shy away from getting stuck in, we’ve had a look at our favourite upcoming events at LCW this year…

Wednesday 8th:

Discover the Art of Paper Flower crafting with Pom Pom Factory & Italian paper-maker Cartotecnica Rossi in their beautiful underwater-themed pop-up. With workshops throughout LCW, Wednesday is dedicated to their grand reveal at Old Spitalfields Market – an event PENSON is awaiting eagerly, ready to lose ourselves in their incredible masterpieces and enjoy their talk on the art of paper flower making…

Thursday 9th:

Globally-renowned set and costume designer Paul Brown, left behind a legacy of other-worldly designs, which provide ongoing inspiration for aspiring creatives. Thursday sees his works discussed by his design associates and collaborators, alongside a virtual-reality version of the studio created by filmmaker Jonathan Hamilton. And the cherry on top?! It’s being held in the V&A, one of our all time favourite London locations!

Friday 10th:

As it’s Friday, and all good Fridays revolve around good food and drink, our top choice of event is at Studioilse’s Bermondsey studio, where they’re hosting a special dinner with master Viennese glass-makers Lobmeyr. Ever wondered if your glass impacts the taste of your wine? Then you’re in luck, paired with the dinner is a wine tasting session focuses on understanding the impact glass thickness can have on the senses. What more could you want?!

Saturday 11th:

With the sun set to appear on Saturday, we know exactly which event we’ll be heading for… Artisan Ice-cream Tasting! From 11am -12pm Alex Fubini – MD at the Ice Cream Union will be giving a talk and taste session on all things ice cream! Check out their incredible flavour list for a hint of what’s to come…

Sunday 12th:

Fresh from Milan Design Week, Kintsugi is looking to be one off 2019’s hottest trends, so it’s only right that we’d want to check out The Art of Repair: Kintsugi at Wagumi! Iku Nishikawa gives an introduction to how, with traditional techniques, broken ceramics can attain a beautiful afterlife…
