Hosted at London's Old Truman Brewery, Architect@Work is a trade event for architects and interior designers with over 200 innovative products and services showcased by manufacturers and distributors. The theme for this year's edition will be Sensory Design | Acting Natural, exploring ways in which architecture and the environment converge.

Design Heritage: Concepts, Contexts, Politics:

FEBRUARY

Stockholm Design Week:

 

03 - 09 February @ Stockholm | Free 

 

Together with Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, Stockholm Design Week has established itself as the most important week of the year for Scandinavian Design since its launch in 2002. Stockholm Design Week takes place in a variety of venues across the city from galleries and showrooms to dinner parties, after fair meetings, opening cocktails, museums and cultural institutions.

Held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, this three-day event showcases materials for use in architecture and interiors. Describing itself as the only UK show "that focuses solely on interior and exterior surfaces", the annual exhibition promises over 180 exhibiting companies, sections dedicated to architectural lighting and natural stone, and a speaker programme featuring 50 architects and designers.

Salone Del Mobile Milano:

Milan's Salone del Mobile is considered the most important furniture fair in the world. Held at the Fiera Milano exhibition centre, this year's event will feature the biannual kitchen exhibition Eurocucina and office design showcase Workplace 3.0. In addition, young designers show their work in the Salone Satellite area.

Milan design week is the unofficial name for the world's biggest annual design gathering, featuring the giant Salone del Mobile furniture fair plus hundreds of events around the city collectively known as Fuorisalone. Exhibitions in the city tend to fall into various design districts including Lambrate Design DistrictVentura Centrale, Brera, Tortona and 5 Vie. Shows taking place this year include Ventura Future.

Berlin Design Week:

 

30 April - 10 May @ Berlin, Germany | Ticketed

 

The BERLIN DESIGN WEEK takes place for the third time from April 30 to May 10, 2020 and presents new approaches and their influences on today's design. Designers, museums, cultural institutions, galleries, studios, project rooms and companies present new approaches and their influences on today's design. The focus is on questions of ecological and social sustainability and how they are examined by a creative culture of innovation.

Clerkenwell Design Week:

The London district with the greatest concentration of furniture showrooms, and architecture and design studios, hosts its own design week every May. In a series of showroom events, exhibitions and installations Clerkenwell Design Week showcases leading UK and international brands during their three day celebration.

London Festival of Architecture:

The London Festival of Architecture celebrates London as the global hub for architecture. The festival returns to the capital from 1-30 June 2020 with a lively and diverse programme of public events across London exploring the theme of ‘power’.

Birmingham Design Festival:

 

05 - 06 June @ Birmingham | Free

 

This two-day festival will bring a series of workshops, talks, exhibitions, demonstrations and screenings – split into graphics, digital and product "districts" – to various venues across the city. This series of events will be curated around the this year's theme, ‘Colour’.

Dutch Design Week:

The biggest design event in Northern Europe presents work and ideas of more than 2600 designers to more than 350,000 visitors from home and abroad. In more than 110 locations across the city, DDW organizes and facilitates exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events, debates and festivities.

ORGATEC is an exhibition fair for the office furniture industry and is organized every two years in Cologne. During last editions, the number of exhibitors and visitors has steadily grown.
