Another destination on our global JO&JOE hotel map. JO&JOE Budapest is an Open House experience that bridges the gap between hotel, hostel and apartment - and follows the JO&JOE core values of being open to everyone – especially the local community.

Its on-street connection is maximised by a double-width entranceway to welcome visitors into the central social space. The ground floor has no reception, maximising space for engaging and immersive experiences like rentable pop-ups, exhibitions, events and DJ nights.

JO&JOE Budapest is open, vibrant, and comfortably sleeps 400. Like other JO&JOEs there is a variety of dorm-style shared rooms and bathrooms as well as private rooms with en-suite. Once guests have finished partying the night away the bespoke double-size wooden beds await a comfy night’s sleep.

Social areas Happy House and kitchen/terrace are reserved for booking guests and located on the hotel's upper floors.

Food is a central part of the hotel’s story and actively involves guests with its show kitchen and food market on the ground floor. On offer are world beers and food, while the packaging and cutlery are fully sustainable.

Street food in the courtyard garden means the F&B offer is always evolving. JO&JOE uses cashable room cards to pay – so there’s no hunting around for a credit card left in the room.

A concrete palette and stripped back exposed details create a futuristic hospitality interior design while the raw backdrop sets off the light reflective interior finishes. The clean lines and the interesting apertures of the interior design compliment the external architecture.

No two JO&JOEs are the same – each JO&JOE interprets its locale. The Budapest location takes inspiration from the famous natural water springs that underpin and map Budapest city.

The hotel uses pathways like these natural water springs – to organically map out pathways and routes. The ground floor routes culminate outside in the courtyard garden where trees and atmospheric lighting pop up like fountains. The LED lighting in the hotel is also a key feature to show the relationship between the city, nature, and technology.

The JO&JOE brand was co-created by PENSON and Accor Group in 2016 to disrupt the economy hospitality model. PENSON developed a physical and branded experience for JO&JOE that embraces a liberated and rebellious approach to hospitality interiors while offering a fresh take on customer experience, F&B, service, and new emotions for guests.
