Weekend Agenda | December Feasting

It’s December! The countdown to Christmas has begun, and of course, that means a month of the best eateries in London…whether it’s a wild work social, a rejuvenating break during high-intensity Christmas shopping, or a pick me up treat to combat these long dark days, we’ve chosen some of the most beautifully designed restaurants to visit this weekend. (Yes, the food is pretty incredible too!)

Tom Dixon collaborations are taking the lead with seriously striking restaurant interiors emerging in London…


If you’re willing to travel that little bit extra out to North Greenwich, hidden amongst the generic high street names is Craft London, a collaboration with Stevie Parle, serving up a whole load of design inspiration as well as out of this world food.


Food To Try: Hot Smoked Treacle Duck, Figs, Sour Cherry & Gem.

Design Inspiration: The velvet blue banquette centerpiece.

Reluctant to leave the city centre? You can experience Tom Dixon’s interiors at his King’s Cross restaurant – Coal Office – a collaboration with legendary chef Assaf Granit. Stylishly slick, the industrial themed interior is a firm PENSON fav.


Food To Try: Yellow is the New Black – Clams & Mussels, Yellow Bulgur.

Design Inspiration:  Tom Dixon Melt Pendant Light.

Next up is latin american restaurant PIRAÑA, serving up all the retro vibes that hit exactly the right note! Interiors designed by Sella Concept, their signature style is as bold as the food here. We particularly love the red metal detailing and blue mosaic tile bar combo.


Food To Try: Grilled Sea Bream in Banana Leaves.

Design Inspiration: The jade terrazzo flooring.

Relative newcomer Cub has THE best yellow booth seating, which is somewhere between a Wes Anderson set and an American diner. We love it! The brainchild of Ryan Chetiyawardana and Doug McMaster, there are all sorts of good things going on here – from their sustainable zero waste approach to their quirky interior design!


Food To Try: Confit Leek, London Fettle, Lemon Thyme.

Design Inspiration: Paper mulch and cork pendant lights.

Finally, we have Lina Stores. Established in 1944 as a deli, their fresh homemade pasta and authentic Italian produce is legendary… so it was only natural that they should open a restaurant a few streets over! Designed by Red Deer, the restaurant incorporates the original store’s iconic colour scheme of white and pistachio into its latest incarnation.


Food To Try: Ricotta & Herb Gnudi, Sage & Brown Butter.

Design Inspiration: Padded green leather stools.
